STRAIT PIRATES TAKE GAME #3 AND TAKE STRANGLE HOLD ON SERIES WITH BULLDOGS

At Antigonish, NS. The Strait Pirates are one win away from sweeping the Antigonish Bulldogs 4-0, in the Sid Rowe semi-finals, as they nipped the Bulldogs 3-2 in overtime Wednesday night. The teams played a scoreless first period with the Bulldogs outshooting the Pirates 15-10.

At Antigonish, NS. The Strait Pirates are one win away from sweeping the Antigonish Bulldogs 4-0, in the Sid Rowe semi-finals, as they nipped the Bulldogs 3-2 in overtime Wednesday night.

The teams played a scoreless first period with the Bulldogs outshooting the Pirates 15-10.

In the second Logan Gillis opened the scoring for Antigonish, on the power play, from Nick Allard and Guy Boudreau. With just under five minutes to play Evan Sparling pulled the Pirates even at one an even-strength goal from Kyle MacIntosh.

Shots in the period favoured the Bulldogs at 7-5 for a 2-period total of 22-15.

In the third Ronnie Power gave the lead back to the Bulldogs from Brendan MacDonald before Kyle MacMullin dead-locked the game at two just a minute later. KJ MacNeil and Johnny Carabin added the assists and sending the game into a 10-minute overtime.

At 8:09 of the first overtime period Jeremy Sheppard scored from Brandon Mullins.

Final shots were 33-31 Pirates.

The Pirates can wrap the series up in Port Hawkesbury Friday night at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre. Warm-up is at 7:00 with puck drop at 7:30 pm.
